PROGRESSION OF DANCE CLASSES

When a dancer enters first grade, they are ready for a combination ballet and tap class.

After 4 or 5 years of dance, (at 5th or 6th grade) dancers add jazz to their ballet and tap class.

8th grade & high school dancers take a combination jazz and tap class.

Pointe class begins when a dancer is around the age of thirteen.

Pointe class is a separate class and is optional.

High school students also have the option of taking Advanced Ballet.

 

* Dances classes meet once a week.
Pre-ballet classes meet for 40 minutes.
1st & 2nd year Tap & Ballet - 45 minutes.
3rd - 4th year Tap & Ballet - 50 minutes
Pointe class - 30 minutes
Advanced ballet - 30 minutes
All other classes - 50 minutes


Dance Dress Code
 

All dancers follow a dress code when attending class. Older dancers (12 years old and up) may wear any type and color

of dance wear. Younger dancers wear light pink tights and a black leotard.
